Usually when doing a shot for more than 30 seconds, you would need an intervalometer, this way you could just program it, then walk away. Well I don’t have an intervalometer, and since i didn’t want to stand there for 20 minutes with my finger on the shutter button, I had to MacGuyver that shit. I took an eraser and cut it into the shape of my shutter button, then used a rubber band to hold it into place. It actually worked like a charm. I just set the timer, so that the camera would stop shaking by the time I was done getting the eraser into place.
This is why everyone loved MacGuyver. Well, that and he was one sexy bitch.
Here’s my first attempt:
This is from my front yard, my neighbors house is in the foreground.

My second attempt from my side yard:
I have quite a bit of noise on the top corners, and if you zoom, there’s like 1000 hot pixels.

Lastly, here’s my third:
Much like the second attempt.

I plan on doing it again, but my next attempt I will maybe try it in Trabuco Canyon away from all the neighborhood lights, and I also need to research how to get rid of the hot pixels.

So I just saw it, and these are the top 3 reasons why you should see it.
1. Heath Ledger does a frighteningly tremendous job. He’s downright scary.
2. Christian Bale’s Batman voice. All previous Batman’s used their regular voice when in the Batman suit, like some dude isn’t gonna say “Whoa, you sound just like Bruce Wayne dude”.
3. Story. It was very well written, and very well thought out. The supporting cast all did a great, great job.
I think it could of been a little longer, and all the reviews are true. It is very DARK.
I would of waited in 3 lines to see it. It was simply amazing!

I tried my best to get to see The Dark Knight on opening day, and I was very unsuccessful.
Below are pictures from the line for the movie at South Coast Plaza’s beautiful Metro Pointe movie theater.

People were lining up for the midnight show at 7pm, and I would have waited, but my babysitting tokens ran out at 11pm.

Surprisingly the parking structure wasn’t that full, so there was a glimmer of hope when I pulled in, but I saw this the second I walked up.

One more for good measure.

So I left to go get dinner with my tail between my legs at Pick Up Stix where the Orange Peel Chicken was super spicy and where I listened to the In Rainbows album on my phone……
Forget about your house of cards
And I’ll deal mine
Forget about your house of cards
And I’ll deal mine
Fall off the table,
Get swept under
Denial, denial
The infrastructure will collapse
Voltage spikes
Throw your keys in the bowl
Kiss your husband goodnight

I got kicked out. I was told that the Train is under the Homeland Security umbrella and me walking around taking pictures made the station manager nervous. I completely understood and just snapped a few then left. The station was built in 1985, but it was made to look like it could of been built in 1955. So my hat goes off to the designers.
I’m a really big fan of the Lomo look, and I know it’s been done to death, but I tried my best to achieve that effect. I know there’s an easier way in Photoshop CS3, but I did it through several steps which allowed more control. I think I need to work on softening my edges.
Tell me what you think.
Here’s a photo of the Tracks, Bridge, and Main Sign:
Here’s one of the light and long walk way along the tracks.
Again, I tried to achieve the Lomo look and I’m actually kinda thrilled with the results. I’ll continue to play with it and see what comes of it.
This post is brought to you today by the Letters “L” & “P” and the number “2″.
This photo journey soundtrack was provided by the mix on my LG Voyager phone which has a mix of Camera Obscura, J Dilla, Radiohead and Eazy E. Thank you micro-SD.
Also, I think as of today I’m going to swear off red meat.
