the wordy shipmates

Sarah Vowell has a new book coming out later this year called The Wordy Shipmates.
This is very exciting news.
Sarah Vowell has become my favorite author over the last few years, so I’m hoping that The Wordy Shipmates doesn’t disappoint.

3 future things that excite me

1. Google Android is an open source handset that will be all about third party applications. The only problem is Verizon Wireless will not cooperate with Google in it’s attempts to take over the world. VZW is my current cell carrier. Sure, why not switch if you’re that excited about it? Well, I’m a family share plan with my wife and daughter, so they’re probably not going to want to switch, plus all of our contracts expire at different times…..see, that’s how they get you. But there is hope, The FCC is looking at limiting the early termination fee, and I guess it’s happening sooner than later. I paid a little over $200 for my last phone, so why the early termination fee?

2. The Dark Knight. The new Batman movie looks amazing, and the fact that very, very little CGI was used, plus it’s shot in IMAX makes me cream my shorts. Very excited to see this.

3. San Diego’s Gaslamp District. I’m going there next Friday & Saturday for a Padre’s game, some night life and some possible photography. Should be a good time.

That’s 3 little things that I’m excited about.
I do have to add some sort of media to each post, so I’m going to add a little Homer to this one.

I opened up an image sequence in Quicktime Pro, then chose the frames per second, since It moves faster than my processor can keep up, I exported it to a .mov.

Done!

I made a list a week or so ago and I’ve completed one thing on my list.

I finally finished my time lapse from that over night trip to Woodland Hills.

I uploaded it to Vimeo, but it’s taking them a few hours to process it, so I’ll post it tonight when I get home from work. So all I have left from my short list is:
1. Take More Pictures
2. Get My Personal Website Up

Swiper no swiping…

MKLVFKWR

I got gas today and I thought the American flag in the background of the pump was kind of symbolic, so I took a picture. American’s are all about symbolism.

Here’s the start of a rant:
I thought it was ironic that our current administration would say that the American people are addicted to foreign oil, when this debacle that the Iraq war is, is based on oil. Oil was suppose to pay for the war…man I could go on & on & on, but I won’t.
I’m not going to finish my rant.

Anyway..here’s the picture:
Gas Pump

I fcked it up in Adobe Lightroom kind of on purpose.

The price of gas went from $4.45 a gallon to $4.49 while I was pumping gas.

This is Chad

Chad is an aspiring world traveler and professional Photographer. He also takes his clothes off a lot.

Chad

There’s going to be a movie made about Chad someday, but it will be rated X because he’s always naked.

There’s a puzzle in my tags, can you solve it?

I’m going to post more later.

Proper Propaganda

Politics Truly bring out the worst in every individual that has an opinion. My wife usually ignores the hoopla associated with the rigamarole’s of politics and I’m jealous of her for having that ability. I on the other hand am not able to step back and just let people have their little arguments if I don’t agree with what is being said. Yesterday I used the word Propaganda in response to an email that was sent to me regarding the race of Senator Barack Obama. Unfortunately the internet is not being used to it’s full ability, because email’s being sent that are discrediting someone based on their race was not the full intent of this vessel of information.

If people stopped arguing they would clearly see the government is screwing them both.

Propaganda is the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behavior to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist.
