So I acquired a Diana F+ off of Craigslist recently, and what started out as a hobby has turned into an obsession. I went through 4 rolls of film in about 10 days, and most of the results have been less than stellar. I also purchased a scanner so I can scan in my negatives and not have to pay a printer, mostly because I’m a cheap bastard and film can be quite pricey.
Well right now I’m working on a 35mm roll in my Diana, and since the Diana normally shoots 120, the picture should bleed through the sprocket holes, kinda like this. I’m not expecting much with the first roll, but we shall see.
Here’s my first foray into the wonderful world of film:

The B&W film I used was Lomography 100 speed and it looks really crappy. I doubt I will ever use that brand of film ever again,

So I haven’t updated my blog in like a year, but I plan on updating my exploits with film more frequently. I also have my sisters Canon AE-1 35mm, I’ll post those as well.

Flickr’s video service is getting much better. They obviously are feeling a little pressure from Vimeo and doing like Snoop says and stepping their game up.
I need to as well and doing a complete time lapse.

I’ve ignored this blog of mine for a couple months now. Maybe I’ve been a little busy to share, and truth be told, I do this more as a time capsule for myself than anything else. I do have a few photo’s to share…
Friday night was intended for the family to make a short trip down south to San Diego for Cara’s graduation party but we were unable to acquire babysitting, so Cara, I’m sorry, but we had every intention of going.
We had babysitting for Friday night only and we drove into Los Angeles to hang out with Ryan and Gina.
We ate dinner in downtown (Blue Cheese Fries = crazy delicious) and ended up at Akbar in Silverlake where the drink situation is wack. Bring cash.
We ended up being in the car quite a bit due to traffic suckin. So I basically took a picture at every stop light, and the results were pretty lackluster, here’s the best.

Even did a tiny timelapse, and I mean tiny.

Amber and I have some friends named Gail and Guy, and they threw a Valentines/Birthday party on the 14th.
Below are the best pictures. My goal was not to fire the flash.

Wow, I’m kind of stoked on this. I submitted a few photo’s to File Magazine and they accepted one and put it in their collection.
Here it is:

File Magazine is a little different than your traditional photo magazine, here’s a brief synopsis:
Welcome to FILE magazine. We publish images that treat subjects in unexpected ways. Alternate takes, unconventional observations, odd angles — the photographs in the collection reinterpret traditional genres.
This is the image they took:

Enough of the self promotion.

I rode my bike to 7-11 to get a Slurpee with Crysta. I actually towed her via jump rope and we both talked about how immature it must look for a 33 year old man towing a 24 year old lady on roller blades to 7-11 to get slurpees. But then we said who gives a shit, because if more people rode bikes to 7-11 for Vanilla Coke Slurpees, then everybody wouldn’t be so fuckin miserable.

Another thing. I absolutely love the neighborhood I live in.

I could of sworn that I just heard the word “bitch” on Sesame Street. I could be wrong.
Look at these pictures from my Nikon 50mm 1.8 and laugh at the idea that Sesame Street is teaching America’s youth pimp talk.

Doggy in hand

This is a water faucet in my backyard I've never used.
I Sesame Street was teaching America’s youth pimp talk, I can’t think of a better place to learn it from.
Flickr is still KING!!

My family is a bunch of hot sluts for IKEA. Their hot dogs, Smaland and of course their .99 Frozen Yogurts.
The IKEA warehouse also has good lighting for pictures.

There’s a term I hate that photographers use, and that’s the term Bokeh. I prefer the term “Lens Blur”, because I don’t feel like such a pretentious goofus when I use it.
